Problem
After watching the TED video by Daniel H. Cohen, "For Argument's Sake," consider any (or all) of the questions:
a) Is argument treated as "war" in our culture?
b) How can arguing be positive?
c) Can losing an argument be good for us?
d) He does not offer a solution in getting away from the "war" metaphor of argument. What solution would you offer?
In addition to answering any or all of the questions you answered above, answer this question:
What concept/idea(s) would you use from the chapter reading to offer a solution for what he proposes in getting away from the "war" metaphor of argument? Feel free to incorporate ideas from the other two videos posted on BB (Symbolic Interactionism & George Lakoff).
