When you wake up in the morning, your brain begins processing the information you take in from your senses and engages cognitive processes to help you progress through your day and adapt to your environment.
Consider activities that you engage in on a daily basis, such as driving a car, choosing what to have for lunch, speaking with a colleague, or other normal work functions, etc.
• What cognitive processes are used in these activities?
• How do these cognitive processes help you adapt to your environment?
• What are some possible consequences if your cognitive processes do not function adequately during these situations?
