Problem: Political Parties
In two paragraphs (one paragraph for each prompt; a paragraph is defined as a minimum of three sentences and a maximum of six sentences for the purpose of this project; if you prefer, you MUST answer these two prompts:
1) Are you satisfied with the current state of the political parties in the United States? (meaning - the current two-party system of Republicans and Democrats): If you answer yes, you must explain why you are satisfied. If you answer no, you must answer why you are not satisfied. Things to consider: are the issues that are important to you being represented adequately?; are the people that are important to you being represented adequately?; is the government being run in ways that you are happy with? These are just examples - you should think of other criteria as well. To get full credit, you must think of an idea or two that are not on my list of examples.
2) What changes would you like to see to the party system in the United States? Even if you answered "Yes" above, there are always improvements that could be made. Think of some! Possible things to consider: should redistrict be reconsidered?: should the system of government be adjusted to better accomplish multiple parties?; should we have term limits at the federal level? These are just examples -you should think of another idea or two at least. If you don't, you won't get full credit.
