What changes could you incorporate in your future behaviour

Assignment:

Introduction

Congratulations! At this point, you have completed the five assignments and the majority of your major project (completed as you worked through the modules). Now that you have finished the course, it is interesting to see whether your views of management have changed.

All that remains for you to complete on your major project is the reflective summary, worth 18 per cent of your major project mark. Your Open Learning Faculty Member will then calculate your official major project mark (worth 50 per cent of the overall course mark). As explained in the course overview, this mark may reflect an adjustment of marks previously assigned for Part C of the Module 1-5 assignments.

Reflective Summary

Instructions

Answer the following three parts of the reflective summary of the major project. Your answer should be approximately five pages, with a minimum of one and one-half pages devoted to each part of the summary. Be sure to use the information you have learned in this course, including management theories, principles, and terminology.

A. Re-read the self-profile you completed in Part C of Module 1 Assignment. This was your description of your view of management when you started the course. In approximately 350 words (one and one-half pages), analyze whether and how your views of management have changed or deepened. You may wish to look back at the self-test that you completed in Topic 1 of Module 1, and complete it again.

B.In approximately 350 words (one and one-half pages), describe your leadership style(s) and analyze whether it has changed since you began this course. Your experiences can be with any organization or group (business or otherwise). Have any of the course readings encouraged you to try new methods of leadership? What changes could you incorporate in your future behaviour to make you a more successful leader?

C.Looking back over the course, what knowledge and/or skills have you gained that will likely make you a more effective and efficient manager, now or in the future? What do you consider to be your major strengths as a manager (or potential manager)? In what areas of management do you feel that you require the most improvement? Be sure to consider the material from all of the course modules. Your answer should be approximately 350 words (one and one-half pages).
