A globally operating organization, such as an MNE, becomes successful if it can operate within a complex network of laws and values. One can ask whether the same principle can be applied to labor unions. Effectiveness of labor unions is limited as it varies across different countries. Workers in countries where union presence is less have relatively less protection from unfair treatment. What can one do to establish a labor union that is effective in all the countries that the firm operates?
