If you're like many people, you probably think of their intense need to move and their almost insatiable desire to learn new skills. Watch the video once with the sound off to see the behavior (i.e., movements, facial expressions, etc.) of the two preschool teachers as they work to build positive relationships between home and school, which lead to more consistent care for the toddlers. Then watch again with the sound on, and think about whether the teachers use their voices to demonstrate that there are many ways to encourage toddlers to direct their own energy and develop new skills, and that some good ideas come from parents.
