Her high-density lipoprotein (HDL) level is 45 mg/dl and triglycerides are 120 mg/dl. She recently had a maximal oxygen consumption test that indicates her VO2max is 48 ml/kg/min. The maximal stress test indicates no known cardiovascular or electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities.
Past Conditions
The client has reported no past medical problems.
Behavior and Risk Factor Assessment
The client reports that she is not a smoker but likes to have a cocktail after she leaves work. She states that she doesn't really like the bar she frequents because of the heavy secondhand smoke she has to breathe. She currently eats a diet that is rich in complex carbohydrates and lean sources of protein. Her personal trainer has her eating 4-5 meals per day. She likes to run 3-5 miles a day at least 4 days per week, and she does resistance-training exercise 5 days a week. Her job requires her to work between 50 and 60 hours per week. She sleeps an average of 6 hours each night. Her greatest concern is that she feels tired all the time.
