Problem
Instructions
Strategies are actions designed to lead to a desired outcome. In an ordered list, describe the timing and sequence of various strategic actions that will make progress toward your goals. Supplement your proposed sequence of strategies with a rationale: It is likely that you would employ different strategies at different phases of the transition, and would have interim targets to achieve (tracked by indicators). What strategic actions will really transition this complex system toward your desirable future state?
I. How will you use technology?
i. Digital Tools Collaboration in Agricultural Industry - detect and moderate the distribution of water and fertilizers to specific crops on a need-based supply
ii. Use genomics to rebuild crop biodiversity and reintroduce genetically diverse crops into the ecosystem
iii. Descale the use of agrichemicals - develop methods to counteract the damage to the environment that has already been done
II. What type of policies or institutions will you use? Are your strategies market-based, governance based, or community-based?
i. Full-cost pricing
ii. Regulation of pesticides
iii. Subsidies for smaller urban polyculture farms
iv. Labeling regulations
III. Will your strategy incorporate education, communication, or media? How?
i. Standardize sustainability education in k-12 schooling, incorporating field trips / volunteering with the local food sources
IV. What assets are available and what resources will be necessary?
V. Are your strategies more centralized, or distributed? Top-down, or grass-roots?
