At this point, we have been introduced to the three rising monotheistic religions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The expanse of migration throughout the region reveals a great level of influence within the art and architecture of this time. Choose one piece of art or architecture from the Islamic or Early Medieval time period to analyze:
a) What do you see that reflects influence from earlier time periods and/or locations?
b) What aspects of your selection represents new aesthetics?
c) How did the rise in manuscripts encourage the sharing of aesthetic ideas?
