ASSIGNMENT # 1 - FOCUS PAPER - 3 page minimum. This is the Topic Proposal or Plan for your Research.
Title of assignment: Focus Paper. Required to prepare APA formatted title page.
Articulate selected topic. Prepare an essay (with multiple paragraphs) addressing specific questions (listed below). Your essay will be typed and double spaced. Your paper must contain a clear introduction at the start of the paper and a conclusion at the end.
In the middle pages create section headings (levels of headings) for items 1-4.
1. What area of health disparity or diversity/equity do you intend to explore this semester that relates to your specified major listed in MySJSU?
2. What is your research question? What is your relationship to this question? What drew you to this question?
Note: Narrowing the focus of your culturally focused writing will help you locate appropriate resources, avoid confusion in writing and provide a continuing conversation of the importance of cultural equity.
3. What is the larger significance of your topic? Who or what could benefit from your research?
4. How will new knowledge in this area add to your professional / career goals?
