Problem
YouTube Video: "Sir Freddie Laker and the destruction of his airline".
This is a great example of a type of predatory pricing - often called the "long-purse" strategy, where the incumbents tried to wait out Laker Airlines until they eventually went bankrupt. However, this is a long documentary, and this is because this ends up being quite a long story. Were you surprised by how long it took for this strategy to unfold and all of the steps it took to take Laker down? Why or why not? What are your thoughts on these long-purse strategies in general. Are they viable? desirable?
