Problem
In the 2019 article by Schlegelmilch et al., study participants were youth with disabilities receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) but not Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). This makes sense because youth have not worked enough to be eligible for SSDI. The authors found positive employment outcomes for the youth who received benefits counseling. Based on your understanding of SSDI (week 4) and this study, what are your thoughts regarding employment outcomes for adults receiving SSDI and benefits counseling? Would the outcomes be the same as this study? Why or why not?
