Ethical Dilemmas Paper
In this paper, you will (1) discuss potential ethical issues in working with children, adults, and families, (2) develop ethical decision-making skills and demonstrate the ability to apply those skills, (3) discuss the importance of professional ethics, and (4) review the NCFR Ethical Principles and Guidelines for Family Scientists.
What to do:
1. View the Ethical Dilemmas Power Point located on Moodle. Choose one of the six ethical scenarios from the power point and address each of the following items.
a. What scenario did you choose?
b. What is your immediate reaction to the dilemma?
c. What is the specific issue/problem?
d. Identify the stakeholders. Who is affected by this dilemma?
e. What are two possible resolutions to the issue?
f. Decide on a course of action. What would you do?
g. If you were in a supervisory role, what policy would you implement to ensure the issue does not arise again?
2. Read the information on ethics (pages 149-153) in Chapter 7 of our primary textbook, Introduction to Human Development and Family Studies. Address the following.
a. How would you explain professional ethics?
b. Why do you think it is important to have professional ethics?
c. How would you explain academic integrity?
3. Review and summarize the NCFR Ethical Principles and Guidelines for Family Scientists located on Moodle.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
