A non-heme diiron enzyme, Myoinositol oxygenase (MIOX) has exclusively N and O ligands. Upon reduction of the purified enzyme, an EPR active species can be observed with g values, g1=1.95; g2=g3=1.81. Upon its reaction with O2, a new transient species with g values of 2.05,1.98 and 1.90 can be observed. Please could you draw the chemical reaction of the reduced MIOX with O2. Also what are the spin states of each iron, and how do they give rise to EPR signals in each state?
