Read the Business Section of the HCA 10-K, attached. HCA, Hospital Corporation of America, is the largest for-profit hospital company in the USA. While many other hospitals are non-profit, government, or charitable organizations, the transparency offered by this attached document provides a lot of current information about healthcare today.
Problems: Answer the following problems
1. What are the specific challenges faced by HCA today?
2. What are the changes in reimbursement and regulations that are explained in this attachment?
3. How does HCA position itself in the competitive landscape? i.e., what makes it a stronger competitor?
4. What recommendations do you have for HCA's management that may not be addressed in this document?
