The use of marijuana for medicinal purposes is legal in a number of countries, including the United States. As of 2022, marijuana is legal in 23 states and legal for medical purposes in 41 states. Native American Reservations also have control over the laws related to cannabis use on their properties. Marijuana, however, remains illegal on the federal level.
