Reflect on your reading of Heart of Darkness. One of the themes of the story is humanity. What are the obligations/responsibilities humans have to themselves and to others to act in ways that are humane? What are the obligations and responsibilities - and dangers - of trying to stop others who are acting in ways that are inhumane? If one does not stop those who are inhumane, does that make one inhumane? What does this say about current times and today's culture where people do not stop inhumane behavior?
