Problem
MacKinder's geopolitical theory about the dominance of central Asia over the world may be overstated, however, China and Russia support each other especially with new continental initiatives-which includes other developing countries in the region (India, Iran, Central Asia). Spykman's Rimland theory modified Heartland theory to show how important coastal areas are on the Asian continent in relation to global connectivity. Which is more important (or both) in your view? What are the new Chinese and Russian initiatives on the continent that are important? How are new initiatives that involve India, Iran, China and Russia playing a role? What initiatives does China and Russia have that are guiding Eurasian integration and future multipolar global leadership? How would Russia play a bridging role between West and East?
