1. Answer each question below:
1. What topic you would like to research? Think about topics that interest you. Examples: gardening, hot air ballooning, karate, astrology, etc. Then write one paragraph on why this topic interests you.
2. What is your research question? Turn your topic into a research question. Examples: How do I start a container garden? What is the history of hot air ballooning? What is the philosophy behind karate? What is astrology?
3. What is the background information on your topic? In the school Library, go to the How to Find section and then click on the "How to Find" title (it is also a link). Then click on the "Encyclopedias-Dictionaries" link. Choose one of the online encyclopedias to find background information on your topic.Write one or two paragraphs about the background information you found. Do not quote, use paraphrasing only. Make sure you cite this properly in APA.
4. What are the keywords and synonyms that best describe your topic for a search strategy? You may need to use an online thesaurus to find synonyms, or you might find them from your background information.
5. What is your Search Strategy? From the Search Strategy example in the module content, write down your search strategy.
