Diversity is one very important element or competency for all HR professionals as well, because they have to be able to work in many different diverse situations as well as with a diverse group of employees. How can HR professionals gain a stronger background in diversity? What types of steps can a company take to ensure that the HR department itself is diverse when HR is one of the main departments responsible for finding people with diverse skills and backgrounds? There are many ways this can be done that require companies to think outside the norm and find avenues for bringing in qualified people for this very job specific responsibility.
