Parent materials formed due to weathering of rocks are transported from the place of their origin and re-deposited before they are subjected to further modification. We must clearly understand that weathering and soil formation or developments are not two distinctly separate processes; these may be consecutive and may even be overlapping. The point where rock weathering ends and soil formation begins is not always clear; however,  soil body is the final product of these processes
