Research Design:
Qualitative Research Methods: Qualitative Explanation: This is a crucial research question because there are various coping mechanisms for patients with type 2 diabetes (WHO Newsroom, 2023). This research question is also crucial because there are various challenges to such coping mechanisms as stressed by Fidan et al. (2020). The qualitative research design as described by Creswell and Creswell (2023) is crucial in answering this question because it helps the researcher describes the lived experience about the phenomenon under investigation which in this case, is patient with type 2 diabetes. Qualitative research methods will allow for in-depth exploration of her subjective experiences and perspectives. As explained by Lacey (2012), qualitative research method explores individual's experience helping the research to identify themes, relationships and in some cases, a theory in depth. In-depth interviews with patients, using open-ended questions will aid in data collection while data analysis will involve coding and identifying themes using qualitative software like NVivo. Interpretation will involve understanding patterns and experience while validation will be ensured through strategies such as triangulation.
