All of the networking concepts will be tested in this section, including logical overview of a datacenter network (edge->core->aggregate->access->server), spanning tree protocol including how it works and how it enables redundancy in the datacenter, common physical network topologies used in a datacenter, and basic functionality and uses of vLANS.
1) Diagram the logical network organization within a datacenter in a traditional north-south traffic focused design(i.e. edge routers, access switches, etc.) and label what function each level performs.
2) What are the benefits and drawbacks of using Spanning Tree Protocol in your datacenter network.
3) Explain, via text or diagram, how a vLAN works.
4) Why are traditional networking architectures (i.e. north-south traffic oriented) inefficient in a modern datacenter? What network structures are used now to fix this?
