1. What are the advantages of conveying a realistic recruitment message as opposed to portraying the job in a way that the organization thinks that the job applicants want to hear? What is the full range of impact that this question entails: ethical, operational, effectiveness, etc? How will taking what is a “realistic job preview” approach, affect your recruiting and staffing outcomes? What would you do, as a recruiter, depending on the labor market and challenges that you face?
2. A sound promotion policy is important. What conditions are necessary for an effective promotion policy? Are these issues “cut and dried”? What factors need to be considered to insure that a promotion policy is effective? Does the policy have to be “fair”? How does the policy influence your recruiting efforts? What should you consider as you are formulating your policy?
