What are some of the steps that an organization can take

Discussion

1. What are some of the steps that an organization can take to ameliorate the distress and losses suffered by its employees when there has been a regional major disaster that affects everyone personally as well as the business? Answers might include continuing to pay salaries, assisting employees with temporary housing, providing communication links to other parts of the country, providing a clearinghouse for information and contact, etc.

2. You may have noticed the emphasis on preparedness in this chapter. While society expects a business to be prepared for disasters and to recover using its own resources, we do not seem to expect individuals to be prepared to survive a disaster. Should we expect government at any level to be responsible for disaster recovery at either the personal or business level? Why or why not? What sacrifices would a business have to make if the disaster recovery process were turned over to a government agency?

The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
