Horror as been defined as one of the most flexible of genres. Because it is often not taken seriously as a means of communicating a message, it is often an ideal vehicle to present social criticism or present messages that would be rejected in mainstream cinema. What are some of the culture issues you noticed in either The Tram or The Baby Room? Can you think of any American horror movie or TV series that does this? OR Horror is said to be largely scene oriented, with most of its effectiveness done through visuals and set pieces. Using either of the films here OR one you would like to discuss of your own choice, what are some of the methods horror movie directors use to build suspense?
