Vignette Case Study #1
Rocio is a 13-year-old recently arrived Mexican immigrant who came to her school counselor because she was being bullied by a group of classmates. With Rocio's permission you leave a message on her mother's voicemail and also send a note home asking for a meeting to discuss the situation. When a week goes by with no response you become frustrated and wonder if the mother's lack of responsiveness indicates neglect or ambivalence about her daughter's feelings.
Based on this vignette:
