2. ‘As a manager I spend most of my time putting out the daily fires that surface and resolving the performance-related issues of the team. I just don't have time to think strategically.' Examine this situation and provide suggestions on how this manager can begin to think strategically.
3. ‘Although we have opportunities for the team to participate and contribute ideas, in reality the manager tells us what to do and we just agree.' What could you as a manager do to change this perception?

Discuss the benefits of this approach from a continuous improvement perspective.
