What are responses of researcher
When responses are missing or inappropriate, researcher has three choices:
(a) Researcher can sometimes detect proper answer by reviewing the other information in the schedule. This practice, though, must be limited to those few cases where it's obvious what correct answer is.
(b) Researcher can contact respondent for correct information, if identification information has been collected as well as if budget and time allow.
(c) Researcher strike out the answer if it's clearly inappropriate. Here an editing entry of 'no answer' or 'unknown' is called for. This procedure, though, is not very useful if your sample size is small, as striking out an answer generates a missing value and generally means that observation can't be used in the analyses which contain this variable.
