Considering the ADA (Americans Disability Act) what are the pros and cons of hiring someone with a disability? ADA says a company must make reasonable accommodations. What are reasonable accommodations for an individual that is in a wheelchair, hard of hearing and is battling cancer? Keep in mind not all disabilities are visible. If we decide not to hired an individual with a disability, what other HR laws might we be violating?
Many company like to use referrals to hire new employees, for this they may use social media. What steps can a company take to prevent becoming a homogeneous workplace? Does this type of practice risk harming the diversity of the company? Why or why not?
