Assignment Task: Robert Caulder is a 79 year old male who has recently arrived on the ward, with facial drooping, slurred speech, dribbling of saliva, crying and in distress and is confused with a dense hemiparesis on his left side. He has returned from a CT scan with a diagnosis of haemorrhagic stroke.
Mr Caulder is on 4 hourly full neurological observations, 2 hourly pressure area care, is nil by mouth until assessed by the speech pathologist and has a naso-gastric tube insitu. He has a past medical history of hypertension and high cholesterol.
1) Using the case study above what information or test would have given the medical team the indications to make the diagnosis of a haemorrhagic stroke
