Discussion Post: Middle Age Cognitive
In general, cognitive competencies in middle adulthood are fairly steady despite known declines in some areas of intellectual functioning. Explain whether or not memory appears to decline in middle-age. What are good strategies of memory storage and retrieval? How might crystallized and fluid intelligence work together to help middle-aged people with their problems? Share specific examples with the class.
