In 2022 a group of people organized a protest against the ongoing vaccine mandates. This protest was named the "Freedom Convoy." The movement began as a protest against the Government's imposed Covid 19 mandates. It grew in number of participants and resulted in the blocking of city streets and border crossings and ended with the Government enacting a rarely utilized "Emergency Act" measures.
