When trying to diagnose any issue because of a causal factor it can prove to be difficult in the world of psychology. When someone has an issue due to a fever there is usually the bigger problem, which could be an infection. However, when a child had poor behavior it does not necessarily had a mental disorder, the root cause could be how the behavior itself was learned or reinforced (Malott & Shane, 2014). The medical practitioners simply assume the behavior is not the problem itself they can begin to create disorders, which is a result of the medical-model myth. The medical-model myth is the erroneous view of human behavior, the idea that behavior is just a symptom, and that there must be an underlying psychological issue (Malott & Shane, 2014). What actions and steps should be taken in order to lessen the amount of instances when the medical-myth model is a factor?
