What about concepts of ethnocentrism-cultural relativism

Problem 1: Culture, ethnocentrism, and cultural relativism are key, foundational concepts in cultural anthropology. Prior to enrolling in this course, you probably heard of "culture." What was your understanding of the concept of culture before you enrolled in this course, and what is your understanding of culture now, based on your learning in only the first week of this course?

Problem 2: What about the concepts of ethnocentrism and cultural relativism? How important are they? How do we keep our ethnocentric attitudes from affecting us in any cross-cultural situations where we might find ourselves? How do you react to someone with significantly different views, attitudes, or beliefs from your own?

Problem 3: Think of practicing nursing in a culturally diverse area, or in any area with different cultures, or with a culture or cultures different from your own. How might ethnocentrism hinder your ability to provide the very best care? How might you avoid that?

Problem 4: As you respond to your peers, in this discussion thread, engage in a conversation with them about how their acknowledged ethnocentrism and your acknowledged ethnocentrism are similar and different. Respond a second time, to at least one of these responding peers, to further discuss solutions to the acknowledged narrow mind sets.
