What about a policy that extends past the federal government

Assignment task: Please help me respond to the discussion post and add a few questions.

One of the more recent IoT regulations passed was the Internet of Things Cybersecurity Improvement Act of 2020 which strengthens security for IoT devices by introducing minimum security requirements for devices that were purchased, owned, managed, or controlled by the federal government.  While law this is a good attempt at addressing vulnerabilities from IoT, there is more that needs to be done.  What about a policy that extends past the federal government and into the private sector?

The future of IoT is projected by businesses to automate more and more of their operations and increase the quality of their goods and services by adding Artificial Intelligence into their systems.  This year, many IoT solutions with processing capabilities have began to emerge.  With the assistance from these technologies, companies can place AI closer to their sensors lowing connection needs and allowing the IoT to make more intuitive decisions more quickly.  So future laws and policies will have to reflect this new change which includes the challenges from Artificial Intelligence.  In the end law and policy has to catch up with the fast and ever-changing cyber landscape.
