Website Design and Development
Website Topic:
What is your overall topic?
This website is meant to be a marketing website for a new product. For instance, the prototype will market a new software application for automating a delivery drone.
Website Purpose:
Why do users need this site?
Users need this site to understand how the delivery drones can be automated using the software application to enhance value.
What do you want to share on this site?
This site is being shared to market the automation software for delivery drones.
Audience:
Who is your target audience?
The website targets fast food retailers, mostly retailers of pizzas, who intend to reach more corporate clients at reduced costs and times. The site also targets manufacturers of delivery drones, who intend to make improvements to the devices.
What is their general geographic location?
The website targets the entire city for now, but will look further into the entire state in future.
How many people in your target audience (estimate)? An estimated 50 restaurants is targeted.
What is their average age?
The average age of the users, who mostly include restaurant managers and owners, are in the age bracket of 23 and 45 as they have the best understanding of technical aspects of the drones and the applications.
What is their level of familiarity with computers and Internet?
Most of them are familiar users of common business applications, the internet, corporate websites, email, and social media, not to
mention mobile-based internet applications.
What is the most compelling thing you want the audience to think, learn or do as a result of visiting the site? I would expect the audience to ask questions on eh benefits that the application will bring to their businesses.
Site Map:
Provide a site map showing the interconnections of the pages of the site. You need to have a minimum of 3 pages for your website, but most websites have more than this. Your site map should include all pages, even placeholder pages that you might not develop fully in this class, but could use for expansion later after the course is over. The site map should show a complete map of your website. The Homepage is always the first page, then other pages branch off from the homepage. The other pages may also have sub-pages if the page can be broken into categories. Here is a very basic sample of a site map using SmartArt in Word:

Form:
Describe the purpose and functionality of the interactive form your site will have. Remember that nearly every site uses forms - common ways to use a form are subscribing to a newsletter/updates, contacting the company with questions, and creating a username and password to become a member of the website, along with username/password for login.
The interactive form will be used to register users, taking their personal and business details and recording them into the database. Following the registration, users will receive reports from the system regarding their status and their login details will be sent to their email addresses.
The form will take their names, phone numbers, emails, and business locations among other details.
