We just recently upgraded our user storage capacity Storage Area Network with a strategy for the next five years.
Currently 800 users use about 60 Terabytes of storage, the new SAN was installed with about 180 TB to last the company 5 years, this was an extrapolation of the current storage needs and the growth patterns of the last 5 years.
Still, organizations do go through unexpected growth which we rely on policy and constant monitoring to keep disk storage usage in check.
