Ways for developing an effective team

Discuss the following in detail:

Reflection teams

Think about two teams on which you have been. One should have been effective and one ineffective. Answer the questions based on your experience and the information on developing teams.

1. ID the team which was ineffective. Based on the slides-what went wrong? What elements were missing? Be specific in what was missing and give at least one example that demonstrates what you say.

2. ID the team which was effective. Based on the slides-what went right? What elements were there? Be specific in what was present and give at least one example that demonstrates what you say.

3. In your opinion, which one or two characteristics is/are most important in developing an effective team? Why?

1 .In the team which was ineffective , qualities like being dependable, discipline, preparedness were missing. Teams members were late and came unprepared. We were just all over the place, we did not know what to talk about but we had assignments we could work on so we ended up shifting one of the assignments to another day.

2. In the team which was effective, there were qualities like collaborative, enthusiastic and enlarging. Everyone took up a task, we were all excited about the health fair and getting our funding letter ready. One team member brought up an idea of having creating one email and password for the group which I think was great.

3. I think relational and solution oriented makes an effective team. If everyone can get along with each other, things will move smoothly. When a quality like being relational is missing, someone may give a good point and another team member will object just because he or she has some kind of bias. A quality like solution oriented is just what a team needs. This help in getting all assignments done and correctly.
