Wave speed and frequency based problem


A string of 120cm is stretched among the two fixed supports. The mass of string is around 4g, and tension in the string is 20 N. The string vibrates at its first harmonic (basic frequency). Let consider the point A which is 30 cm from the end of the string and point B that is 60 cm from the end of the string. Amplitude of both points is 1cm.

Determine:

i) Wave speed

ii) Frequency

iii) Max speed (transverse) at point A

iv) Max speed (transverse) at point B

v) Max acceleration (transverse) at points A and B
