Assignment task: For this week's reading, we discussed team killers. Perhaps the most famous team killer/cult leader in history is Charles Manson. Manson is unique in that there are several interviews that have taken place. In those interviews, we are offered the opportunity to see inside of Manson's mind. We are going to use this case for our discussion.
For this week, go to Charles Manson Biography article Links to an external site. And read the article. Also watch the interview below to get a better idea of him as a person. Chapter 8 is heavy with statistics specific to team killers. Use those statistics and compare the Manson murders to those norms. How does Manson and his "family" compare? Be sure to take into account as many aspects as is possible to compare, based upon the statistics offered in the chapter. Likening back to previous chapters, was Manson a psychopath? Why or why not? Be sure to also post on at least 2 other student posts.
An interesting side note, Manson lived for a time in Indianapolis and was actually a student at Gibault in Terre Haute. This case strikes very close to us, although the killings were committed in other areas.
