Vitamins - Biomolecules
Additionally to air, water, proteins, carbohydrates, fats and mineral salts, specific organic substances needed for regulating some of the body procedures and preventing particular diseases are known as vitamins. These compounds can't be synthesized by an organism. On the basis of solubility, the vitamins are categorized into two groups.
(a) Fat soluble; Vitamin D,A, E and K.
(b) Water soluble; Vitamin B and C.
