Vesicular stomatitis
Vesicular stomatitis (VS) is an infectious viral disease of horses, cattle and pigs caused by Vesiculovirus of the family Rhabdoviridae and characterized by fever, the formation of vesicles and their subsequent erosion in the mouth and on the feet and teats. The disease has zoonotic significance. There are two diverse serotypes, viz. Indiana (with 3 subtypes) and New Jersey.
