Problem -
A. Provide an Engineering Drawing with the CAD program of your choice (no 3D models: all drawings in 2D format) to show your design. Print out and hand in on the due date.
a. Utilize McMaster Can- (www.mcmaster.com) to design utilizing standard components for the sprockets and chain; provide part numbers from McMaster Carr on your drawing.
b. A simplified schematic to show the "actual" chain is fine.
B. Provide all calculations to back up your engineering drawing.
Design a Roller Chain drive for the following application.
Drive type: Hydraulic motor, e 15 Hp. 1.250" diameter shaft size, with a 1/4- drive key Driven machine: Ball Mill, 1.750" diameter shaft size, with a 3/8" drive key
Input Speed: 500 rpm
Desired output speed: 200 rpm (stay within 5%)
Lubrication type: Designer specified for application
Chain size: Use #60 chain.
Only calculation, no CAD drawing.
