Physical Sciences Near-Earth objects (NEOs) are comets and asteroids that have entered the Earth's neighborhood. Between March 4 and March 10, 2013, four asteroids were in our neighborhood; the largest was approximately 600,000 miles away. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration maintains a list of NEOs deemed to have the potential to collide with Earth. The estimated absolute magnitude (H, related to diameter) of several of these objects is given on the text website.20 Use the methods presented in this section to determine whether there is any evidence to suggest the data are from a non-normal population.
