Oil field waste, considered nonhazardous, is transported in a tanker truck of volume 16 m3 and disposed in landfarms. The total waste is composed of 8 m3 of water over 1 m3 of waste oil. The waste oil is sour and there is the possibility of hydrogen sulfide generation. Use the fugacity level I model to determine the percent hydrogen sulfide in the vapor phase inside the truck. Hydrogen sulfide properties: KH = 560 atm, waste oil-water partition constant = 10, waste density = 1.1 g/cm3.
