Information - An engineer's code of ethic's states that an engineer must;
"Hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public and the protection of the environment and promote health and safety within the workplace;"
Therefore, failure to report a situation that an engineer believes may endanger the safety or welfare of the public would constitute professional misconduct on the part of the engineer.
Assignment - Find a news story that occurred this year, sometime in 2015. It should contain a situation where the person was in conflict between the public's safety and some other course of action. The story can be an engineering story or not, but the main character should be in a moral struggle about what should be done. You may have to make a lot of assumptions to help your argument, which is fine and encouraged. Shape the report as follows;
- Paragraph 1 - Summarize the situation.
