Problem:
Many people don't understand that most employment in America is "at will", which means you can quit whenever you want and you can get fired whenever your employer wants, for good reason, bad reason, or no reason (but not for discriminatory or other illegal reasons). Let's talk about whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. In many other countries, especially in Europe, the law protects a person from being fired for no reason. Should we have that kind of law here? Do employers have too much power? Should the law require employers to have "good cause" before they fire an employee? What if you're the employer? Should you be required to keep employees even if you don't want them? Don't need them? Don't like them?
