Brief:
“Since the early 20th century, there have been many strands of research that explore what effective leadership is, Compare and contrast the following three leadership approaches/theories and critically discuss what they contribute to our understanding of leadership effectiveness.
1) Trait approach
2) Situational leadership theory
3) Transformational leadership theory
- To construct a great answer you need to demonstrate that you have done the following:
- Read widely including current journal articles/research papers and thinking on the approaches
- Have developed your own voice and ideas but support your arguments with literature, theories and research
- Not just been descriptive and list advantages and disadvantages but will have compared and contracted the research approaches/theories (e.g. how do the theories/models and concepts differ? What are the similarities? Etc.)
