Understanding how the company operates


Problem: Your first step is to identify an organization. You should select an organization that you: (a) are working at now; (b) have worked for previously; or (c) have a friend or relative working at now. The organization can be of any size (I highly recommend that you pick an organization with at least 100 employees), but you must have access to the organization so that you can interview one or more employees of that organization. There are some requirements on the type of organization that you select. The firm must be a for-profit organization and cannot include the federal, state, or local government as well as any branches of the military, a non-profit organization, a charitable organization, a not-for-profit hospital, a university, a school, or an organization that derives any of its' funding from the federal, state, or local municipalities. If you select any of these types of organizations, you will receive a zero on this project. You cannot rely upon external research for this project - you need to select a company with the above criteria.
